The 5-day cleanse

“the goal of the five-day cleanse is to temporarily reduce your intake of food, giving your body time it needs to expel stored toxins, effectively resetting your digestive system for optimal functionality. In the meantime Young Living products along with recommended food and drink give you the essential nutrients you need while cleansing”. That’s what the brochure says.

I’m doing the five-day cleanse because my body really needs a reset. Too many sugary foods, too much food in general has been my lifestyle for too long. A new year, a good time to start taking care of myself.

The five-day cleanse consists of three supplements;

Balance Complete – three times daily; two scoops of Balance Complete in 8 ounces of water.

Digest and Cleanse – take one soft gel three times daily, with water, 30 to 60 min. before meals.

Ningxia Red – Drink 2 to 4 ounces three times daily with meals.

Various snacks for in-between your shakes and that’s it – sounds easy right?

Day one

7 AM-6 ounces of water Kiefer, 12 ounces hot green tea, Digest and Cleanse

8 AM-4 ounces Ningxia red – Nitro – Balance Complete, 12 ounces of water and shaker cup. Easy peasy,  breakfast is done.

11 AM- red grapefruit (thank you girlfriend from Florida) feeling cold, drink more hot tea

3 PM – Digest and Cleanse

3:30 – Balance Complete, 1 oz. Ningxia Red

I am missing the food habit but not because of hunger

4 PM-hot green tea

530-keeping busy not really feeling very hungry

6 PM – cantaloupe and grapes

Relaxed and did some reading. Never felt hungry, the time just flew by.

Did not have the last shake – went to bed.

My take away for today, is that we really don’t need all the food that we eat. It’s good to give your body a break every once in a while.
